ALAIN & ALISON

Alain, my partner and Head Chef at Launay's, and I have worked together in many successful restaurants across the country, and we feel that Launay's is the culmination of all the experience we've gained together over the years. We're proud to welcome you to our restaurant & bar.

It's always been our dream to return 'home' and open a restaurant in Edwinstowe, the village where I spent my early years. It's such a beautiful place, and the people are so friendly. In the six years that the restaurant has been open, we've met many wonderful people, many of whom have become not only regular diners, but great friends too.

We've tried to build our restaurant around our passion for good food and our love of entertaining. We hope this is clear when you visit Launay's Restaurant.

Born in the picturesque fishing village of St. Cado, on the south coast of Brittany, Alain has been surrounded by great food and great ingredients all his life. His love of France, and particularly of his home village and the Brittany region is evident in the food we serve at Launay's. Alain returns to Brittany often to spend time with his family, and always manages to come back to England with new ideas and inspiration!

With freshness, honesty and provenance always at the heart of our menu, Alain creates classic and modern dishes influenced by many modern cuisines. But you'll often sense a subtle nod to his beloved french roots, from modern takes on traditional french dishes, to faithful recreations of true classics.
