Think you know your Sauvignon from a Soave or your Malbec From a Merlot? Then join us at Launays for our first 'Call my Quaff' wine event. You don't need to be a wine expert to have a great night – by the end of the evening you will be!

Over the course of the evening you will blind-taste 7 fine wines. Our wine expert Ben Briscoe from Bon Coeur Fine Wines will offer two descriptions of each wine, and it's up to you to decide which is correct and which is a bluff. Working in teams there will be prizes for throughout the evening.

The tasting will be followed with our specially selected menu:


Douglas fir salmon gravlax

Smoked salmon mousse, fermented cucumber,
lemon & keta egg dressing, squid ink crisp, lemon air

Mushroom soup

Whipped garlic cream, Cotswold roll

Locally sourced partridge breast

Salt baked beetroot, caramelised cauliflower, red chicory


Poached Skrei cod

Cannellini bean, chorizo & spinach ragout, charred tenderstem broccoli

Flat iron steak cooked at 55 degrees

Confit garlic pomme puree, Jerusalem artichoke variations, red wine jus

Celeriac & kale tart

Crispy duck egg, yeast cured egg yolk, charred celeriac, blue cheese mornay

Main courses served with either white or red wine 175ml


Chocolate moelleux

Orange sorbet, tuille biscuit

Baked toffee apple pavlova

Bay leaf ice cream, salted caramel sauce

Orange & passion fruit cheesecake

Yoghurt mousse, candied peel
